About
Nobody’s Baby brings a laid-back, old-school charm to South Yarra. The moody venue – named after the Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ song Nobody’s Baby Now – is by Gustavo Prince, (also behind Northcote bar Joe’s Shoe Store and Pizza Meine Liebe next door), and business partner Tim Badura.
There are easy-going cocktails, a curated wine list, Middle Eastern-leaning snacky plates and vinyl spinning in the corner.
In the kitchen, Brunswick’s Very Good Falafel runs the show, serving hibachi-grilled meats; brussels sprouts with pilpelchuma (red chilli paste); sumac-cured sardines with challah; and classics like ktzitzot (meat patties) and falafels.
Dessert is simple – choose from cheese plates or ice-cream from Luther’s Scoops.
On the drinks list, expect cocktails like the Black Blume (house-made forest berry syrup, Amaro Lucano, orange bitters and prosecco) and the Everybodys Martini (48-hour parmesan fat-washed vodka served over Bordiga extra dry).
