Wild Legs Wine Room brings a casual, curated energy to Newstead with a focus on Queensland wine and a compact list of around 80 bottles – a refreshing contrast to the genre’s usual excess. Nearly everything is natural, organic or biodynamic, with changing by-the-glass options and a growing spotlight on the Granite Belt.

The interior is upbeat, and there’s plenty of outdoor seating beneath fairy-lit trees. Food skews classic wine bar – cheese boards, Gildas and charcuterie – with playful additions like stracciatella with roasted pineapple or a mini mortadella brioche sandwich. A cheese soufflé with malbec red onion jam stands out, alongside cocktails like the Tomatini, which is a fun tomato-infused vodka drink with vermouth.
